Wreck(fish).

In 2017, we found a beautiful, derelict building in Liverpool that had incredible potential. With not much help from the banks, we needed to raise a huge £200k to open the restaurant that we knew it could be.

Wanting to test the waters (and have a bit of fun), we decided to host a pop up in the building that was to be named ‘Wreckfish’, with the money raised going into the crowdfunding pot. With no gas, electricity or running water, we had to get seriously creative but we were completely humbled by the response.

Derelict to Restaurant.

Launching in May 2017, the Kickstarter campaign was crazy and over 1,500 people pitched in to help open Wreck in October 2017.

Since then, we’ve turned that derelict building into a 90-cover restaurant, serving simple bistro food using the best quality ingredients possible.

As well as individual tables, we have a communal table available, so you can enjoy your meal in great company. We also have a private dining room, which can seat up to 14 people. Perfect for business meetings or special occasions with friends and family.

In 2023 we dropped the ‘fish’ on our name. Whilst we’ve already had fabulous fish dishes on our menu, we found that the perception of our bistro was that it was only fish, so we thought a little name change would help clear up any confusion.
